Internship-My Final Thoughts
I attended two web conferences the final week of my internship class on November 4 and 7th. Most of the discussion was about how to best format and structure the curriculum vitae. Dr. Abernathy gave us some references as well as let the students view her personal curriculum vitae. I was very anxious to be so close to finishing my internship class. The class is very demanding as you try to gather all of your information, readings, assignments, and reflections that encompass my entire 18-month experience. Dr. Abernathy also gave the students some insight into completing the remaining 4 educational administration classes for us to be eligible to take the principal exam. I have gave it some thought and I think I will take her advice. For now I'm looking forward to the holidays as I say farewell to the Educational Technology Leadership program and I look forward to graduation on December 18!

EDLD5370 Web Conference-Week 1
On October 5, 2010 was the first web conference for my final internship class. My colleagues and I had many questions regarding the specifics of the major tasks that we were going to have to complete during the next five weeks. I have learned many new ideas and 21st century skills that I've shared in my wiki, blog, and google site over the last 18 months. Now I have the challenge of linking all of these Web 2.0 tools together in my ePortfolio that I will turn in at the end of my internship class. This week I will have to start on on course-embedded reflections, 8 standard reflections, complete my field-based activity reflections and requirements, and to start my comprehensive exam. I will have my work cut out for me and I am anticipating the end of this wonderful experience!

EDLD5363-Week 5 PSA Debrief
In Week 5, I had the opportunity to reflect on my experience about how well my group collaborated with each other during the video editing process to produce a Public Service Announcement (PSA). With a team of five talented women, we were able to brainstorm and contribute valuable insights to our project. Our team was able to create a wiki entitled Multimedia Group Project for our group input and facilitation of ideas. We decided on a topic for our PSA that dealt with the serious issue of plagiarism.
During the pre-production phase, our team planned a rough draft of our PSA project proposal, script outline and narration script, shot list, and copyright information. The production phase was where all of our creativity and vision came together. Several team members recorded many video scenes as well as voice narrations to allow room for editing purposes. The post-production process included choosing the correct background music that matched the tone of our PSA, editing the video shots and voice narrations, and last but not least selecting the appropriate copyright citations.
The title of our group’s PSA was “Plagiarism: The Wrong Choice.” If I had to fix anything on our PSA, it would be the fluxuation in voice levels of the narrations to blend more smoothly to sound as one voice. The copyright citations were identified for all of our websites/audio references including the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial license. Our group did a great job collaborating as a team for the past three weeks. Every team member brought a different and unique perspective to the project based upon our individual strengths. Everyone was dedicated to the tasks and deliverables that were assigned to them and provided valuable input. I felt that this course was a very challenging yet rewarding experience!

EDLD5363 -Week 4 Web Conference Evaluation
I attended the web conference on Sunday, September 19 at 5 p.m. It was refreshing to see all 31 educational techies come together to talk about sound editing in Audacity. It's one thing to shoot video footage and record narrations and it's another to have to edit the work. Everyone was able to share their ideas on how their groups Public Service Announcements (PSA) were coming along as well as troubleshooting techniques. It was my recommendation to Dr. Abernathy for each group to post their PSA in the discussion board at the end of week 5 for viewing.

EDLD5363 Multimedia and Video Technology
Week 2 I was able to evaluate to video editing software programs to see which one I liked the best. I decided to explore Windows Movie Maker and Pinnacle Studio Plus. Both of the editing programs have similar functionality and 3 pane layout design for the user interface. Both of the programs are user friendly and are fairly easy to use without the use of advanced technical skills. Pinnacle Studio Plus provides the user with more customized options, effects, and features since the new version of the software was recently released. Pinnacle Studio Plus provides 12 file extension options than Windows Movie Maker who offers four. It was noted that just because the video program plays in Windows Media Player doesn't mean that the final video project could be imported by Windows Movie Maker. However, Windows Movie Maker is generally included to be standard on most PCs that have Windows XP operating systems. Pinnacle Studio Plus offers a free 15-day trial which can be purchased and downloaded to your computer. Over the past several years I have taught my students how to create a movie using Windows Movie Maker. It is very easy to learn and the students were able to navigate through the program and make their own customized effects, animation styles, and other functionality for their school projects. Windows Movie Maker is still my favorite video editing software because of its availability and ease of use.
In the article, Video Basics and Production Projects for the Classroom by Andrew Garrison he stated that,"Media production offers a means for students to talk to whomever they think is an important audience. It does all this because students want to say things that have meaning to them-authentic production comes from authentic learning." As stated earlier students love showing off their creativity and individuality. Since we are living in a digital world students love to use technology to participate in authentic learning experiences. Technology provides them a means of communication to showcase their talents and connect with their peers in the way they enjoy best. They are able to be original, unique and have an audience to share in their success.
